ELIZABETH CITY, NC May 25th, 2021- After allegedly driving through a protest on Ehringhaus Street on Monday May 24th. Lisa Michele O’ Quinn was taken into custody, on May25th .
She was subsequently charged with:
- 2 counts of felonies counts of assault with a deadly weapon. With intent to kill by use of a motor vehicle
- One count of careless and reckless,
- and one count of unsafe movement.
Crazier still, these charges are brought one week after DA Andrew Womble determined that officers use of deadly force was justified. Due to the life threatening nature a moving vehicle can pose to officers. While, protesters were “lawfully” occupying the roadway. However the footage does show them intentionally blocking O’ Quinn’s vehicle.
