9 Arrested in Elizabeth City Following Protests Including 2 Reporters

ELIZABETH CITY, NC 9:30pm-

Following a march, the Elizabeth City Police Department made several arrests. For the second night in a row protestors started standing in the roadway blocking the bridge which enters the city.

Among those arrested were two members of the USA Today staff. After giving 3 warnings for unlawful assembly. The Elizabeth City Police Department began to arrest several individuals.

Following the warnings, those who remained in the roadway were rounded up and arrested. Among those arrested were 2 reporters, Ayano Nagaishi and Alison Cutler. Reports suggest 9 arrests were made in total. Additionally, one individual was arrested for jumping on a police car.
