CALIFORNIA- AUGUST 30TH, 2021– California law makers drop their proposal to pass a statewide vaccine mandate. Following a weekend of statewide protests, and a leak of the bills draft. The assembly opted to no longer pass a state-wide vaccine mandate.
According to KTLA, Buffy Wicks who headed the bill, will not be pursuing the mandate this year. This comes only days after drafts of the legislation were “leaked” to the public.
Despite the lack of a state wide mandate passed by the general assembly, California’s Department of Health still issue d a statewide mandate for gatherings of over 1,000 people last week. The action will be in effect starting September 31st.
Additionally, San Fransisco has enacted a citywide vaccine mandate, and LA has voted to draft one as well.
